another friday five

1. What makes you homesick? when im away too long and miss my cat.

2. Where is "home" for you? Is it where you are living now, or somewhere else (ie: Mom & Dad's house, particular state/city)? its where i am living now. its pretty much always wherever im living. ive never felt settled, grounded. ive always moved a lot. but most especially in the past five years. since i left home after high school (twelve years ago), i havent lived in one place for more than ten months. i grew up in the area i presently live in though and it feels more like home now that i have a house/job/life of my own here. but the numerous times ive lived in boston, that has always really felt like 'home' too. every time i go back there to visit, it still feels like home. like a place i belong. and i will move back there someday, when the time is right.

3. What makes it home for you? People? Things? the people for sure, but mostly just the feeling.

4. Where is the furthest you've been from home, miles-wise? when i went to vietnam, it was almost 9,000 miles. but the day i spent in singapore (on the way home from vietnam) turns out to be even farther, miles wise: 9,392 miles (is it possible to get that much farther away from home, without reaching the opposite direction?)

5. What are your plans for this weekend? this afternoon we are heading out to nyc. tonight - an ellis paul show near poughkeepsie. tomorrow - go to an NA convention with daniel in new jersey, to watch him get his '120 days clean' keychain. stay overnight in newark, then sunday morning head into the city. sunday, monday and tuesday - going to the wtc, go to the icp, among other things in nyc. hooray for my first weekend off in many months.
