so. the greatest weekend of the year is over. we got back late sunday night. we discovered it was actually our sixth year, by the way. it wasnt the best or the most relaxing of years. but there was greatness in there somewhere. overall, there was a lot of silence and sunburn and a whole lot of sogginess. but there was also yummy potato latkes. and benevolent burritos. and real strawberry shortcake. and a lot of just genuinely nice people. and also, a lot of political statements that i couldnt help but stand and cheer for and wonder why the hell im even worried about dubya being reelected and then suddenly remembering that the whole country isnt like minded. unfortunately. its like a vacuum, a separate universe. and every year when im there. i wish i could just live on long hill farm forever. not to mention. you know. the amazing music. and finally seeing live a performer i have been a fan of for twelve years. so aside from the tension and my nervous breakdown and wanting to go home so badly on friday night. there was greatness in there too.

and cds claimed consisted of but were not limited to: robbie schaefer, meg hutchinson, crooked still (who i am now fantastically in love with), eliza gilkyson, mark erelli, common rotation, who are basically the second coming of moxy fruvous, and the still unreleased richard shindell.

tomorrow im off to new york city for a job interview at 2pm. but not before i get my hair cut at 11:30. just about the minute i get off the train. anyway. im unbelievably nervous and ridiculously unprepared. but yay me just the same. hey.
